Alanna Orriss - Clinical Counsellor
Alanna is originally from Calgary and is grateful to now call Victoria home. She is a graduate of the University of Calgary’s Master of Counselling program and is a member in good standing with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association as a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC). Outside of her counselling work, Alanna enjoys yoga, meditation, travel, music and being out in nature.
Alanna’s therapeutic style is warm, compassionate and affirming, and she provides culturally sensitive services in an environment that is respectful, anti-oppressive and anti-discriminatory. Alanna practises from a trauma-informed lens and draws from several evidence-based therapies including; internal family systems therapy (IFS), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) which are tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each client. Alanna is committed to providing a safe and therapeutic environment for her clients to foster growth and change in healthy, meaningful ways.
