Flora Pagan - Counsellor, RSW
Background:
Flora has lived on Songhees and Esquimalt territory since 2010. Born in Scotland, she and her family moved to Treaty 7 territory (Calgary) where she grew up.
Flora holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Victoria and is a Registered Social Worker with the B.C. College of Social Workers. Before becoming a counsellor she spent many years working in low-barrier mental health, substance use, and shelter services. Flora joined MTC in 2021.
Approach:
Flora is warm and genuine and believes there is always hope for healing. She uses somatic, attachment-based, and response-based counselling approaches to build trust, resourcing, and dignity. She supports clients to understand themselves and their experiences with compassion and care.
Above all, Flora’s work is grounded in respect for her clients and social justice ethics. She has worked with and for many communities and has experience exploring topics relating to trauma, ethnicity, disability, ethnicity, sexuality, and class.
