Jenni Fehr - Trauma Therapist
Jenni (she/her) was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba before moving to Vancouver Island where she has spent the last 9 years. She is a Registered Social Worker with over six years of experience in the mental health and substance use field where she worked as a Support Worker, Peer Educator, and Social Worker.
A humanitarian at heart with a creative approach to life, Jenni is passionate about supporting individuals to recover a sense of self that makes them feel at home in their bodies and their lives. Her therapeutic practice is supported by the wisdom of her life experience and healing journey, her education, teachers (which includes clients), and her privilege in being able to access a range of supportive therapies. She centers relational and holistic approaches in her work, which situates a person in context of their histories, identities, and relationships in order to understand any given issue. Jenni believes that healing relationships – to ourselves, one another, nature, and spirituality – are essential to address a range of human challenges taking place within our modern society.
As an experienced trauma-informed yoga teacher, Jenni employs a body-based approach to working with trauma. She draws from trauma-informed training, mindfulness teachings, somatic practices, harm reduction principles, attachment theory, emotion-focused therapy, narrative therapy, and internal family systems concepts to guide her work.
