This may also include trauma from war, natural disasters, close relationships, workplace trauma, medical procedures, etc. All new clients begin their journey with the Men\u2019s Therapy Centre through Victim Services with an initial intake interview.\u00a0.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8a03ff3 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"8a03ff3\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ef2b882 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ef2b882\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The intake process helps us to get to know you better by:<\/p><ul><li>Offering some initial support and getting a sense of your current situation.<\/li><li>Exploring and looking at ways Men\u2019s Therapy Centre can best support you either through our Victim Services or clinical counselling program.<\/li><li>Ongoing short term emotional support.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a4e722b e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"a4e722b\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Victim Services can also help with:<\/p><ul><li>Navigating the criminal justice program if you have been a victim of crime or help you make a report to police about historic sexual abuse.<\/li><li>Locating funding avenues for counselling including the Crime Victim Assistance Program.<\/li><li>Completing Victim Impact Statements for court.<\/li><li>Assist with Third party reporting.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-befc92b e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"befc92b\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5437f25 elementor-widget class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Intake interviews are scheduled for an hour and may be in-person, online, or by phone.\u00a0 Intakes are also the first step to join any of our groups.\u00a0 If you are interested in attending group therapy, please let us know at the intake so that we can pass your information along to the facilitator of the data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In most situations, it is your choice whether you report to the police or not. Should you choose to do this, you can contact us to make an appointment with our Victim Services Coordinator. They will help you think through your options and choices.<\/p><p>You don\u2019t have to decide right away about reporting to the police \u2013 you can take some time to think about what you want to do. If you decide that you want some follow up support the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) worker will, with your consent, make a referral to the Men\u2019s Therapy Centre and you will receive a call from one of our Victim Service Workers who will make an appointment with you.
